Empowering Quality Healthcare - Fight Against Malaria
Objectives of the Competition
- Raise Malaria Awareness: Educate students about the dangers of malaria, its prevention and treatment options
- Promote Health Education: Increase awareness about general health and wellness practices among students
- Nigerian Youth as Ambassadors of Fight against Malaria: Empower Nigerian youth to take ownership of the fight against malaria by becoming ambassadors for awareness and prevention, fostering a generation committed to eradicating the disease
- Incentive Participation: Offer exciting prizes to encourage student engagement and participation in health education
- Empower Students to Share Knowledge: Encourage students to share malaria prevention tips and health knowledge with their families and communities
Competition Structure
The competition will be in three categories: Junior Secondary School (JSS), Senior Secondary School (SSS) and Tertiary.
In each of these categories, it would take place progressively in 3 stages/levels: State, Regional and National Competition.
About the Stages of the Competition
Registration will be online via this website. After registration, students would login and add Scratch Pins on Coatal malaria medicine pack. A Scratch Pin, once entered, cannot be re-used. Students can increase their chances of been selected by entering more Coatal tablet packs Scratch Pins.
Selection would be communicated via email. After selection, there would be the Testing stage. The Test will be in two stages.
- The first test will be done on the website. This allows the participants to answer twenty objective questions within the time frame of five minutes after which fifty successful students move to the second stage.
- The second stage would be on a physical venue that would be communicated later. This would take place for each of the 36 states and Abuja. Participants can only compete in one state only. The participants would gather there with spectators and team of examiners. This second test will be in quiz format of thirty to forty-five minutes in which we have multiple-Choice Questions(MCQs), True/False Statements, Scenario-Based.
The first, second and third positions will be awarded with ₦300,000, ₦200,000, and ₦100,000 respectively for the JSS Category.
The first, second and third positions will be awarded with ₦500,000, ₦300,000, and ₦150,000 respectively for the SSS Category.
The first, second and third positions will be awarded with ₦2,500,000, ₦1,500,000, and ₦1,000,000 respectively for the Tertiary Category.
Other top 10 performers will receive prizes such as certificates, malaria-related educational materials and products from Geneith Pharmaceuticals.
The first, second, and third winners from each state would proceed to the Regional Level Competition.
The Regional Competition would take place in each of the 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria. The venue, date and time would be communicated later.
The regional level will bring together the best three participants from each of the state competition giving a total of 18 participants at this level.
The test format remains the fire rapid questions format. The test will be automatically graded based on correct answers by the colleges of assessors who are caefully selected from the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The first, second and third positions will receive ₦1,000,000, ₦500,000, and ₦200,000 respectively for the SSS Category.
The first, second and third positions will receive ₦5,000,000, ₦3,000,000, and ₦2,000,000 respectively for the Tertiary Category.
Other top ten performers will also be awarded with branded merchandise, educational materials and products from Geneith Pharmaceuticals.
The top three winners from each zone will qualify to the national quiz competition.
At this stage, participants will compete live in an interactive quiz competition.
Only top three participants from each of the regional stage advance to the national quiz competition which consist of rapid-fire questions and participants will be timed to answer.
Audience interaction either online or in-person will also be allowed.
Finalists will compete in the last round for the grand prize:
