About the Programme

Geneith Health Competition

In a concerted effort to combat one of Nigeria's most formidable public health issues, the Geneith Health Competition emerges as a beacon of hope and empowerment for our youth. Organized by CEOAFRICA, generously sponsored by Geneith Pharmaceuticals Ltd, and powered by Coatal Forte Softgel, this initiative is designed to harness the enthusiasm and potential of secondary school students and teenagers to champion malaria awareness and prevention.

The rationale behind this unique approach is clear: when the youth take the lead in advocating for health initiatives, it creates ripples of awareness that resonate throughout society. Engaging young minds not only fosters a sense of responsibility but also helps to cultivate a culture of active participation in public health matters. By equipping students with the knowledge and tools to promote malaria prevention, we are essentially empowering the next generation to become ambassadors of health in their communities.

Malaria continues to impose significant socio-economic burdens, particularly on vulnerable populations, including children and pregnant women. By incorporating youth into the fight against this preventable disease, we aim to create knowledgeable advocates who are capable of influencing their peers and families. Their involvement is vital, as they are often more connected to their communities and can effectively communicate important health messages.

The Geneith Health Competition invites students from junior and senior secondary schools across Nigeria to explore innovative strategies for raising awareness about malaria prevention, treatment, and the importance of early diagnosis. Participants will engage in health education, community outreach, and advocacy, enabling them to develop context-sensitive solutions that cater to the unique challenges faced in their localities.

Moreover, this initiative aligns with global public health efforts, including the World Health Organization's goals for malaria elimination. By focusing on youth-led action, we aspire to illuminate pathways for a malaria-free society, encouraging collective action at every level—from families to communities.

We believe that a well-informed youth population will not only enhance public awareness but will also lead to better health outcomes for all Nigerians. The Geneith Health Competition is more than just a contest; it is a movement aimed at inspiring hope, generating dialogue, and driving change in the fight against malaria.

As we embark on this important journey, we invite all stakeholders to support and participate in this initiative that promises to change the narrative around malaria in Nigeria. Together, we can work towards a healthier and malaria-free future for all.
